: Hi!!!
:
: Must say some about this but short, coz I have discussed this
with many
: people.
You haven't discussed it with me yet, but you will now.
: I can say I discover computers and what they are good to, it
started in
: -80s with Sinclair zx-81. But until now, I use Atari, Apple,
Apple
All of the above are great home computers designed
to teach and have fun with for the home computer user.
: Macintosh and some PCs. What I can say, I do not understand how
people
: years after years of hard struggel with their PCs still use
them, I did
: first came in contact with PC, but later with Mac then some
Apple //.
: And I like all Apple computers more than a PC. And I really
admire
: Apple, why, they not only does an great OS like MS, they do
great
: computers for this OS as well. If to compare MS together with
PC with
: Apple with its OS. Apple has allways been long way in
development stage
: than the PC side. Like the Atari and Amiga the Apple computers
has been
: in the front. Really, the PC concept is today the same as the
old IBM
: 8088 computers, some new hardware but otherwise it just goes
faster in
: many more MHz than the IBM 8088. If you can squeeze out the DOS
from
: win2k or WinxP, i suppose you can boot an IBM 8088 with that
DOS, it
: that a development...
In the defense of MS and the IBM compatible computers,
all I can say is this. IBM and MS have always targetted
the business market and the home user was never really
considered as a viable market for them. Over the years
of development of the PC (Personal Computer), many people
bought IBM compatibles for the home, so in response to that,
MS and other software makers had to come up with software
that would be useful to them. Now with such a large consumer
base, it must be very difficult to keep up with the many
new features that so called PC users need or want.
In the case of Apple computers, also known as PCs or
Personal Computers, when you make both the hardware
and software together, it is much easier to conform
to the system that you are creating.
Having said that, think what you will, but IBM and MS,
who have acquired 95% of the market in the years past,
are and will probably continue to be number one in the
business world so quit belly-aching over it and enjoy
the systems you like and I will do the same.
