The bottlenecks to higher baud rates beyond 19200bps are microprocessor
and serial card which could cause the computer to lock-up or crash.
Unless, there's a DMA card that frees up the cpu without overloading it.
Keep in mind, faster isn't always better as data can be more easily
corrupted at higher speeds.
Alternative is using a Macintosh to read/write from Apple II 3.5inch
800Kb ProDOS disks and vice versa. Other advantages include instance
access to individual files, and with the right Macintosh utilities view
Apple II graphics/text/AppleWorks files, etc. Or setup AppleTalk network
which is built-in feature on Apple IIGS (or Apple IIe with card) to
Macintosh (or PC with AppleTalk-compatible card).
