This is exactly how I do it, as you can see from the address of my
web page.

The Centris 650 is running NetBSD and is the connection to the internet
for my home network. It serves web pages and does NAT for the rest of
the computers on the network. It's built-in 10Mbit Ethernet talks to the
cable modem and a 10/100Mbit NuBus card connects to the home network.

However, I'm thinking of replacing it with a Linux PC. I have three
unused PCs lying around, all of which are more powerful than the old
Mac, even though they are worthless pieces of crap by PC standards.

Digressing more, I find that the Centris 650 is much more sturdy and
reliable (and well built) than the Beige G3 desktop next to it, although
their external appearance is almost identical.
