Any ideas what might be wrong with my Apple SCSI card?

First I have to admit that I don't really know if this card works at all. I
got it from ebay (where else) over a year ago and it's been lying around in
the cupboard. The board looks in great condition and I was delivered a very
clean setup with mint disks and cable.

My setup is a IIGS with Transwarp (and yes I've tried reducing the speed)
running at 10MHz. Normally my IIGS is packed with cards, but just for the
sake of testing this thing I removed everything but the Transwarp since I
don't have the original 65816 anymore.

I've got two devices in external 5.25" cases:
IBM 540MB DSAS-3540
Apple CD300e Plus
Both devices work fine on a PC and the CD-ROM also works on my old MacSE
(haven't tested the HDD on the mac).

I've got two cables 25pin->Centronics, they've both been tested using a PC.

I've switched slots many times.

When I start the SCSI utilities (booted straight from the disk) it claims
that it can't find a HDD. Unfortunately I don't have another SCSI HDD to
test (besides the one in my MacSE) and I would like to find out if the card
actually works before going to any further expenses.

At first I had problems with termination and SCSI-IDs, but that's been
resolved. My Apple wouldn't boot at all if there was a device on ID 0.

Does anybody know how I can test the card without getting a new HDD?
