Hi everybody,
I'he been fighting hours trying to setup a connection via a serial line
from my IIGS to my PC/Linux box.
Datas goes from the IIGS to Linux (using minicom) but nothing goes from
Linux to the GS.
Few months ago I've done the same test with windows 2000 and procuded the
same phenomenom.
I don't know what to do, the only cables I own haves plastic glued
minidin connectors that I can't open without destroying them. Only the
DB25 side is opened and I can see the solders.
The cable I'm using is configured like that :
MinDin DB25
1 (HsKo) <--> 5 (CTS)
2 (HSKi) <--> 4 (RTS)
3 (TxD-) <--> 3 (RxD)
4 (GND) <--> 7 (SG)
5 (RxD-) <--> 2 (TxD)
7 (GPi) Unconnected
4,8 (GND,RxD+) not connected each others
This is very frustrating because I'm living in a small town with NO
supply part seller (electronic components, cables, and so on), so I can't
by a minidin to setup the missing wiring.
By the way, I've used the same null modem cable 3 years ago to transfert
several files between my GS and my PC (running W2k). The PC was a quite
old one (a 2xPentium Pro 200). And it worked fine !!!!
6 months ago I've done another try : nothing, and now nothing too ! Last
time I even tried with an old old 286 laptop and it didn't work either.
I even wonder if the serial ports of my IIGS could be broken.
Please, please help me !!!
