ShrinkIt is quite tolerant of "inaccurate" file typing.

In the file open dialog, just type Open Apple-S to show "ALL FILES",
then select the desired file as usual.

ShrinkIt will also "tolerate" a Binary II header or its absence, though
it will not work with a forked file.  UNFORKIT can be used on the //e
to remove a vestigial resource fork attached by a Mac.

BTW, the official extension for a ShrinkIt archive with a Binary II
header is .bsq, but it doesn't matter much, since ShrinkIt will
look at the file and figure out what to do with it.
