.bsq is for compressed ("squeezed") archives created with BLU; IIRC, they
used Binary II to bundle several files together.  They were not at all
common, at least not in the '90s.  .bxy is correct for a ShrinkIt archive
with a Binary II header.  It's what was used for nearly all the files that
were on GEnie, which had one of the largest (maybe the largest) Apple II
software collections in its day.
