I wish there were systems out there like Sailor that supported the
"links" Web browser, rather than Lynx.

Links is an enhanced version of lynx.  It is indispensible to me on my
Linux box because it is not only text-only (as lynx), but it features
full frame and table support, and it has a nicer UI.  If you do run
your own Linux/*x or Cygwin box and connect to it from your ][, I
would strongly suggest you use it instead of lynx.  (Besides, some
discriminating sites that reject older browsers outright do accept
links - for example, SailorMusic.net.)
