I have not had that experience.  Less than 1% of the Apple
components I have purchased on eBay have been defective.

You posted originally that this card worked reliably at 4MB,
and intermittently at 8MB.  This argues strongly that it can
work reliably again.

It sounds like something maddeningly simple, like a poor
contact or a hairline PC trace crack.  Some detective work
is in order.

In any case, the SIMMs are virtually worthless on the market,
while a working Sirius RAM card is worth quite a lot.
