These files are in "squeeze" format. The "squeeze" program
(SQ.COM on CP/M IIRC) compresses the file, and changes the
middle letter of the extension to "Q". The original letter
is saved in the file somewhere, and will be restored when
the file is "unsqueezed". (using UNSQ.COM on CP/M IIRC).

I have some C source for converting these files, but you
will probably have to compile it on a PC or Linux box to
make it work.

If you have a copy of the Walnut Hill CP/M CDROM, it will
surely have implementations of SQ.COM and UNSQ.COM.
