The trouble with modern games is most of them are crap. Too much eye-candy
and virtually no playability.

Some of them are. Anyway how come emulators are so popular then, e.g.
MAME, Spectaculator, VICE? Answer: because most of the games still have
very good longevity and playability, something sadly lacking in most
modern PC and console games [1].

But a lot of people still use the abacus, because it's very fast and
accurate in the right hands. See China and Japan.

[1] Some Sony PSone games are very playable, this is why I keep one hooked
up to the PC monitor via a Gamars V-box.
