Re: Thorw away your 8 Bit shit and buy a PC
It's evident you were never involved with early personal computers.
I have much more fun playing the various c64 games I owned than 99% of
the current pc games available.
Unreal II - The Awakening - Quake series - Half Life (latest version
pending release soon), Doom III (Release TBA) , etc.
It's the same tiresome hash of 3d first person shooters. There seems
to be a total lack of originality. I have seen a few exceptions. I
thought "Oddworld" was great and there was a lot of replay value.
The 64, in my opinion, had some of the most talented artists,
programmers, musicians, and they were able to do so much with the
little resources the c64 offered.
I have games that occupy 50K that I think are MORE enjoyable than a
particular game on my hd that occupies 2.3 gigs!!!
Bigger is not better when it comes to computers. If you're statements
were true you would not have bothered to post your original message
because there WOULD BE NO c64 newsgroup.
I know you struggle to understand why we enjoy our old 8 bits. I can
only say I really have sympathy for you and its unfortunate you didn't
have an opportunity to grow up with something like the c64.
I have about three boring beige boxes close to me. Nameless, boring,
boxes. It's just not the same and you will never understand...
