Hiya Laine,
I went to check it out and for some reason there's an error on my
backup copy of ProTERM, so I had to make a new copy from the original.
I set everything up, pretty much the defaults with:
(1) Null Modem Driver (RTS/CTS)
(2) Super Serial Card (Slot 2)
Then, "No Printer In System"
For the "Null Modem Driver (RTS/CTS)", the Init string is blank in the
"Install" window. ("Misc" menu, "Install").
I set both ends up for 1200 baud, and now it sort of works.
I see characters on both ends as typed, but it's VERY slow on the
Apple //e side of things. If I type REALLY slow, the //e will show
all the characters. If I type normal speed, then most characters are
dropped. I'd say there's about a 250ms to 500ms delay between the
time I type a character on the PC and the time it shows up on the //e.
Going the other way, characters typed on the //e in ProTERM show up
instantly on the PC. So it's like ProTERM has to do a ton of
processing for each character received... or something... When I run
Apple Access II, there's no perceivable delay.
I just went in and switched the driver to "Null Modem Driver" (without
the RTS/CTS hardware flow control) and reconfigured my PC side for
that.. SAME results...
Ack!
