Ernest,
SNAP! Enable Echo?
I already put my //c+ aside for the moment, and started putting
together the //e in its place. The Enable Echo probably isn't my
problem, though, because I did have the PC sending characters to the
Apple //c+ and got ADT running on it -- but when I ran ADT and tried
to send a test disk over, it sat at the prompt "AWAITING REPLY FROM
PC". I have some special COM software for the PC that shows all the
events and there was no data being seen coming from the //c+. So
there was nothing to respond to as far as the PC side was concerned.
For some reason, it's just not going through. Eventually I'll sit
down and try to figure it out -- probably something in the cable
wiring. Still not really sure yet.
Anyhow, thanks for the info on the Apple/SSC setup. I'm in the
process of doing that right now. Hopefully this will all work OK and
I won't have to go to sleep tonight thinking about it!
