I don't remember if I'd tried running it on 8.6 When trying to run the
Admin program it gives a 'Volume Full' error, so I may just have more files
than AS3 wants to handle, or it may have to do with changes in HFS or HFS+

As far as I know the Appleshare Print server only does ImageWriter, IWLQ
and Laserwriter printers. I use it because I have an LW Pro 810 which has,
an incompatible to the GS, Appletalk protocol.

The Apple IIs need two of three Appletalk entities (i.e. pseudo devices) on
the network to do a 'diskless boot'. The only ways to support them have
been AS2.0 and 3.0 and now in the development version of Netatalk under
Linux.
While one can boot a 3.5 and then log in to a file server, without a post
boot init runner, the user is limited to drivers, inits, etc. that could be
fit on the 3.5 disk.
