No, poor design killed the ADAM, pure and simple.

The ADAM's design was great. Once again, the weakness was letting a machine hit the market before it had been debugged. By the time the bugs were worked out, well, Edsels never sold well either.

Just as people chose The Atari 2600 over Intellivision(sp?).  The name
connection.  Mattel was a _toy_ company, not an _electronics_ company.


Again, poor design (those stupid disc controllers), plus a lack of
arcade titles, which was almost the whole point of owning a video game
console -- so you could play the arcade hits at home.
