HTML is a markup language. It is a document formatting laguage. It is not 
even a script language but script languages can be incorporated. PHP is 
more programming but it is really a scripting language but server-side 
unlike Javascript which is also a scripting language but is client-side.

I have a little understanding of this myself. HTML simple indicates the 
formatting of documents but is really crappy and will be replaced with 
XHTML and XML with CSS. This is the new web format that is coming about and 
will be much cleaner and actually much easier to process. An idea of 
formatting XML documents to GEOWRITE is potenially there and seems rather 
interesting and easier then a crappy HTML which has really piss poor Font 
formatting. 


I am getting into PHP & Javascripts and CSS. Later a simplified language 
similar to WML maybe made. This will be rather cool.
