Apple did put their motherboard rev numbers in different places, that's for
sure. You don't need to pry up the CPU, I beleive the Rev 4 MB has the rev
number almost hidden under the front edge of the card slots.
Another way of dating the MB is looking at the date codes (same date code
scheme) on the individual chips. Usually they'll be within a few months of the
date the motherboard was assemebled. But you could see a wide variety of
dates, just try to find the newer or latest dates.
