the wiring diagram in the IWII manual does work, although a little confusing
to follow. to convert to DB-9 you need to look up the default pinouts for PC
Serial Port on both DB25 and DB9 and work out which pin name on DB25
corresponds to which pin on the DB9. And you are not restricted to using
XON/XOFF protocol, you can use hardware handshake.
you are correct in using the C.Itoh-8510 driver.
perhaps your lack of printer response is because the serial port settings
are different for the PC and IWII. You need to set your PC COMx: port to be
the same as the settings on your IWII. from memory the default on the IWII
is 9600, N,8,1, so you need to set your PC to be the same.
