still a bit pricey, ebay often has them at $5US + postage. Not that I'd
wreck a Mac desktop model but maybe a broken one could be scavenged for it's
internal 800K floppy. these are also about $5US on e-bay, or less if they
don't work.
I have fixed about 95% of all 800K/1.4M floppys I've attempted by just
taking apart, dusting and lightly lubricating.

that's way too much, have a go yourself. If you want to be a real Apple ][
geek you have to get your hands dirty a little :), otherwise buy yourself an
iMac :)
