Bill...
"I Ain't Skairt" is the first thought that comes to mind. :)

But seriously, I'm competent enough in electronics that I'm only
slightly shy about going into the guts of my PowerMacs (let alone the
crude-by-comparison //e and cards it contains) with a soldeing iron when
I think it's needed. That's not an attempt at a boast, just a statement
of fact. Electronics work is no kind of "dark mystery" to me, and I'm
quite competent enough to design and scratch-build my own hardware at
the chip and wiring level. A cable/adapter should present little or no
difficulty.

But I would like to hear what the Apple number on the card you propose
sending me is... It's very possible that I've already got one (I'm
specifically thinking of the 655-0101-C that calls itself an "I/O
Controller") sitting here in "Humpty". I'm just needing to figure out if
the "Disk ][ Interface Card 650-X104-8" sitting in "Dumpty" is capable
of controlling the same drives, given a way to connect them to it. If it
is, there's no sense whatsoever in my buying another card (regardless of
how reasonable the price) when I've got at least 3 of the Disk ][
Interfaces sitting here that I can see by just turning my head, and
another 4-5 of them that I could have in my grubby little paws in a
matter of seconds by simply walking into the next room and picking them
up.
