If you are connecting just the Gs to the 7600, and the computers are close 
enough together, you can get away with an 8-pin serial printer cable.

If not or if you want more than two computers on the localtalk network you 
then need the localtalk / appletalk / phonenet connectors and cables.
(The connectors have some transformers, etc. inside them to buffer the 
signals from the serial port to the network.  Some have built in signal 
termination and others like PhoneNet have a resistor that one plugs in)

( I've no cnnection with the seller, but for about $11 you'd get 5 
connectors and cables)

You may be able to use Localtalk Bridge (from Apple) to allow the GS to see 
your Linux box as an Appleshare server.
