Transwarp conflicting with Vulcan HD in 2e?

Anyone had the experience of a transwarp card conflicting with a vulcan 
hard drive in a //e?

Specifically, I have a //e with a 40mb Vulcan that's working great. I 
have a working Transwarp card that, when put into this //e, causes the 
Vulcan to not be able to boot. When I try to directly boot (PR#7) from 
it, I get a message that 'prodos can not boot from this drive'.

I've looked at the transwarp manual and tried adjusting the speed for 
that slot, but it doesn't work at any setting. When I pull out the 
transwarp, the vulcan works fine again.

I tried the transwarp in another //e and it works fine as well. No 
problems with 5.25 or 3.5 drives.

Any ideas? Any info is appreciated.
