That _is_ the easiest way to read a ROM.
Just insert the ROM into the socket of a ROM you won't need to
read it and save it to disk (like a slot card that's not in use and
has the same ROM size). After it's inserted, boot the system,
select the slot ROM, and copy it to a safe region of RAM. Then
BSAVE the image to disk.
The image can be BLOADed anytime you want to take a look
at it, and work on it with, say, disassembly tools.
