The prblem with doing it that way is some of a slot card's ROM loads at
$CS00-$CSFF and some of it loads at $C800-$CFFF
If the ROM is larger than that address space, such as the ROM for a
Laser128 which probably existed from $D000-$FFFF the user would be out of
luck.
The most reliable way to read the ROM would be using a EPROM programmer to
actually read the full ROM and then saving the data to disk.
Then as you say the user could BLOAD sections into RAM for disassembly.
