The problem is CH_ENTER which is defined as '\n' by the Contiki header files,
but the apple2.h header file contains 

        #define CH_CURS_DOWN 	0x0A

which is the same as '\n' with the Apple2 character translation applied. 

One of both is probably wrong, but since I'm no apple specialist, I cannot
tell which one.

The Apple 2 library is not maintained on a regular base and there are no Apple
users among the cc65 developers. In general, interest from the Apple 2
community has been quite low. With this in mind, I would say that Apple
support is rather good in cc65:-)
