True, although, if he intends to use it to run a IIGS emulator and if the
IIGS emulators do anything better than the actual IIGS (i.e. unthrottled,
run really fast), you could argue that it is a Modern IIGS..

True, the emulators have problems, but then again, so does the IIGS at
running II programs.. 100% backwards compatibility has never been a
pre-requisite of "Upgraded" or "Improved"...

Now, I don't know much about IIGS emulators. I don't know if they allow
attaching to SCSI devices or anything, so it might be a bit of a reach...
but...

As long as that Victrola still played old records and not JUST MP3s, calling
it a modern Victrolla might not be that innacurate..

Can I call my Arcade machine a MODERN Arcade machine because it plays 80
games with a PC motherboard? (It's an old Motherboard, so I don't use MAME,
hence 80 games..) Possibly.. It's the same case, monitor, joysticks,
speaker (I haven't gone stereo yet.. :-)...

In the end, does it really matter???

Personally, I like my Apple //e the way it is..

p.s. Anyone recommend a good cleaner for the //e case? I don't want to eat
away the plastic, but I wouldn't mind something stronger than soap and water
if it works.... (I don't want to take everything out of the case, and I
don't want to get water anywhere I shouldn't, so I use hardly any water
anyway.. :-)
