Quite a few bucks more (like about $100+) ;-)

Actually, the main reason is that I was looking for something that has the
potential to be part of a 'luggable' Apple II system. I'm hoping to cram
the TV along with a bare GS motherboard and a single 3.5" drive into a
relatively small case. Since the TV weighs less than 5 lbs and runs on
12v DC, I figured it would be a contender.
The biggest drawback (aside from a complete lack of electronic skills) is
that I will probably have to retain the TV/radio tuner and other non-
essential features.

Also I thought (rightly, it seems) that B/W would be better for overall
image quality... I tried my daughter's 13" colour TV and found that I had
to pretty much kill the colour to get a decent text screen. I wasn't
expecting to get decent 80-column out of the 5" but it's actually quite
useable. I should mention that I do have pretty good eye-sight ;-)
