Instead of trying to create IIgs diskettes on your Mac, you could
download System 6.0.1 disks in ShrinkIt .sdk form to a regular Mac HFS
volume on your Mac. See "Getting GS System 6.0.1" on GS WorldView at
....

http://www.apple2.org.za/gswv/a2zine/Sel/GettingSys601.htm

Once downloaded, you can transfer the .sdk files to the IIgs via
a NULL modem connection. (See
http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2T1TCOM.html .)

On the IIgs, you can use 8-bit ShrinkIt or GS-ShrinkIt to
uncompress the .sdk files to 800k diskettes.
