Re: Apple IIGS OS 6.01
Well, I got the SE with the router software installed to see my Win2K
server (let's call it ELM). I set up a zone on the Windows machine called
ELM_ETHER and plugged in all of the appropriate cables between the Mac SE
and the network. I have the printer port on the Mac SE serving as the
MacZone interface. I then plugged the Mac LC into the Appletalk network and
could see the ELM_ETHER and the SE from the LC. So far so good - then I
thought I'd try to actually see the drive on the Win2K machine from the SE.
That was a BIG mistake. The router still works after rebooting and I can
transfer files from the Win2K machine to the LC, but the SE has a fatal
error on the screen and wants to reboot. Apparently when I tried to log into
the Win2K box from the SE, I somehow managed to totally screw up the
appleshare extension on the SE. I should mention that the SE is running some
pretty old stuuf. I had to install an OS that the Apple router software
would work with. I can't even check which version of the Mac OS is installed
unless I boot it with extensions off (shift while booting).
What do I need to do to the SE to get it to stop trying to log into the
Win2K machine at startup. I can't get into Appleshare because all the SE
wants to do is either be the router or reboot. Is there a config file in the
system folder somewhere that will delete my connection to the Win2K machine?
Thanks for any help,
