Well I'm sorry if CP/M doesn't have python. Python is available for more than a dozen different OS not counting the unixes seperatly.

I have no idea what CP/M is but its definately not on my list of things I've got to know.

You're kidding, right?
For all intents and purposes, CP/M was the first OS for microcomputers, and MS-DOS was nothing more than a knock off of CP/M.

NOW do you remember?

I can't imagine any class in any science that doesn't, however briefly, cover the history of the science.

The thread is cross posted. I read rec.games.video.classic.

If your going to say "hey whats a good language?" thats one thing. If you seriously want to say "hey whats a good language that runs on CP/M ?" I would question if your serious about teaching kids what they need to know to get a job.

I like Unix for example. But if unix for some strange reason faded completely out of use I would not teach a class in it.

Python may be a no-name but it uses a style of programming that is sound and current. I would not suggest someone teach a class in Lisp for example as a first language because while Lisp is good it uses a style of programming that is not in favor. (It may make a good elective). You may learn a lot about programming by learning lisp (or maybe not) but it is going to help you z-e-r-o in in job market.
