I'm using Windows 2000 and a straight through cable with no problem. 
I do launch ADT from the command window.  I don't know if that makes a
difference or not.  I did have to set the dip switches on the SSC to
19200 before transfers would work.  Send me some of the dsk images
your having problems with and I'll try them.  Make sure they are
uncompressed.  Maybe winzip is corrupting the dsk files.
