I'm trying to get a modem working on my GS with ProTERM, but have no
experience with the intricacies of this procedure... I have the ProTERM
diskette, a new high speed modem cable and two modems -- a USR Sportster
28.8 Fax Modem and a GVC V.34 28.8 Fax Modem. I'm using the GS's built-
in modem port, presuming that PT overrides the control panel settings
for the port (right?).
So far I've tried about 8 million different init strings with both
modems but to no avail... I can see their little lights flashing like
they're good to go, but then PT says 'can't init the modem'
Is it possible that I need to find an older/slower modem?
