Re: Cheese Video Box
I am hoping someone can tell me if I missed something in the specs that
would allow me to feed in the 3 separate analog RGB signals...
The Cheese Video Box card has a pre processor (SAA7111) that I think
converts analog signals into digital but I'll be darned if I can
understand the specifications of the chip. I think it expects a mixed
signal and then separates it, quantifies the analog signal into a binary
value and feeds it in to the (AL250) vga out chip. (Again, only if I
understand the specs which I am not claiming.)

It requires the upper five bits of Red and Blue, and the upper six bits
of Green. Of course these must be clocked into the chip at the correct
rate. It would be a simple product, but a non-trivial hack, to make
this modification, IMO.
Interesting, IRRC, the schematic of the IIgs SGR chip has digital
signals... (I don't have my borrowed book handy.) Do you think it
would be feasible to patch the Main board into the AL250 directly?
I'm willing to convert the Cheese Box into a slot card or even daughter
board for power and other signal taps and 'easy' integration. (Little
solder, little hot glue...)
Thankx,
