"Mac Plus Mouse" on //c or IIe w/mouse card?

I recently, acquired "Apple Macintosh Plus" mouse, model number: 0100.
It looks identical to "AppleMouse IIc" model number: A2M4015. The latter
one, works fine with IIc, but the Macintosh one, despite having exactly
the same plug, same number of pins and matching pin locations, it
refuses to operate properly. It moves only horizontally and not
vertical. After re-plugging in //c mouse its fine, therefore ruling out
the likelihood that port is faulty. Is the mouse crook or isn't designed
to be used on //c or IIe with mouse card?  Anyone know where I can find
'circuit diagram' on the internet, so I could do a diagnostic?
