Hello Paul, I have a Dallas Smartwatch chip on my platinum //e in the
same place and it does work. It will keep the correct date and time
over several years without losing a minuite (except for daylight
savings time thing). The problem is all the other Apple applications
can't seem to deal with the current date without patching. I have not
patched "ProDOS" and or "AppleWorks" so my files don't get the correct
date/time stamp when saved. If you want to check the operation of the
chip, download the "No-Slot Clock Utilities V1.2 by Craig Peterson" or
the "SmartWatch Utility Ver1.1 by Mathew Lee Stier". I think I got
them from Asimov a while ago but maybe someone knows of another source
now. I have them installed on a Focus Drive and just checked the date
& time which were still correct. Now, if you could let me know how to
get major applications to use the clock, that would be great.
