I'm not sure what you mean by "use" the clock.

Once the No-Slot Clock driver is installed by its .system program,
ProDOS date and time functions work as advertised, and all apps
that use ProDOS for date and time work properly as well.  Appleworks
and Appleworks add-ons that use the date and time should work.

Very few applications are time- or date-aware, and so are largely
oblivious to the presence or absence of a clock.  Fortunately, file
time/date stamping is perhaps the most useful benefit of a clock,
and it is fully supported by ProDOS when the proper clock driver
is installed.
