Doesn't the TransWarp have it's own boot code on it that supercedes that
in the normal Apple ROM? If so, then the TransWarp would be replacing
the standard Autostart ROM or ][e ROM with its own Superdrive-aware boot
code.
Just a guess on my part, but it would explain the behavior...I suspect
that the signature bytes on the Superdrive card are not recognized by the
earlier ROM versions as a bootable device, so the boot code skips over
that slot during the startup scan. Remember, the Autostart ROM or the
earlier ][e ROM is specifically looking for a Disk ][ controller card,
not a generic boot device... 8-)
