Joe,
You know, I feel exactly the same way most of the time. Outside
of reading CSA2 and getting the occasional bemused chuckle from the
roomie, I'm the only one I know who still cares enough to keep his
IIgs and enhanced IIe operational, much less sitting next to the PC he
reads the newsgroup with.
With everyone else, I either have to explain what a IIgs is, and
also get derisive remarks about my computing preferences. (After all,
according to the rest of the world, the only Apple is the Mac. Those
old IIs from school couldn't possibly be running still.) I'm a
trooper though, and I keep going. Appleworks , various freeware
applications, and of course the games (both 8-bit and 16-bit) keep me
rooted to my IIgs on a daily basis (thank the Gods for add-on internal
fans!)
Take Care!
Josef
PS: Anyone you know in Austin, TX still using their II? Bet I'm the
last one. :)
