It's me again. Managed to get my enhanced //e working as well (was
missing duodisk cable, got the pinouts from one of the FAQs, missing
RGB cable, just got a straight cable from a surplus shop. note on
this one, I tried using a mac RGB cable and it didnt work, It's
probably not straight or was broken with all the bending done to it.)
Anyway, I ran this disk image i saw "apple color rgb demo" or
something like that. Presumably this came with my strange looking
extended 80 column card. I say strange because from a software point
of view it's a normal extended 80 column card, physically looking at
it there is a D15 connector leading out of it. It says it was made by
apple computer inc on the card. My 80 column text card manual and
extended 80 column supplement manuals don't describe the additional
connector.
When I ran the disk, all the demo features worked. 16 color text on
16 color background, and it can display DHR in color or monochrome.
When I ran the same disk on my IIGS, the double hires (DHR) modes were
all in 560 dot monochrome. It's no surprise that the color text stuff
didnt work.
Baffled, I ran dazzle draw. still no color.
question: can the IIGS (attached to an RGB monitor) display colored
DHR graphics?
