Call-A.P.P.L.E. Volume 15 Number 1 has been released.  The magazine
now has a new look cover with the artwork of Barry Kerzner.  Inside
this issue, you will find an interview with Don D. Worth, the author
of Beaneath Apple Dos and Apple ProDOS and current UCLA Director of
Administrative Computing, as well as a review of the Apple 1ghz

23 Dec 2002 ### Apple-1 Processor section redesigned

Tom Owad, the webmaster of Applefritter (http://www.applefritter.com),
has redesigned the processor section of the Apple-1 computer.  This
new design is available from his web site under the discussion section

6 Jan 2003 ### CFFA Card 2nd Run Delayed

Rich Dreher, the creator of the Compact Flash card for the Apple //e
series has announced that the second run of cards which was scheduled
to be ordered will be delayed until at least March 2003 due to the
Molex connector for the card being out of stock.  The cards will also
be available for $105 per card, $5 cheaper than the original cards.

6 Jan 2003 ### Dapple 1.24 Released

Steve Nickolas, author of the latest Apple II emulator, Dapple, has
released another update.  Version 1.24 which resolves some of the
minor stability issues in the emulator, is the second update in 2
weeks.  You can access the Dapple web site at

6 Jan 2003 ### Juiced.gs down

A report to our links base reported that the Juiced GS Magazine web
site is down.  The Apple II print magazine which was the last of its
kind could not be reached and their staff were unavailable for

Mac OS 9 / OS X
==========================

6 Jan 2003 ### Mac World Expo San Francisco Begins

What could be the last Mac World Expo began today in San Francisco.  
The 4 day exposition will hit its high point tomorrow with Both Steve
Jobs scheduled to give the 9am key Note and Steve Wozniak scheduled to
hold a forum at 2pm in the afternoon.  However with the decision by
Apple to pull out of further Mac World Expos, this one could well be a
thing of the past.

6 Jan 2002 ### Mac World Expo SF Keynote Live

Apple Computer will carry the keynote speech by Steve Jobs live again
this year.  The URL for the simulcast is
http://stream.apple.akadns.net/.  You will need Quicktime in order to
view it.

6 Jan 2002 ### iListen 1.5.2 released

MacSpeech has released a new update for its popular speech recognition
package.  Version 1..5.2 is being released in time for Mac World Expo
SF and will be displayed at the MacSpeech booth (#4141).  To read more

2 Jan 2003 ### Apple releases iSync

Apple release the its synchronization software which allows you to
sync data between your mac, your ipod, cell phone, PDA and even
another Mac.  For more on this, check out :

5 Dec 2002 ### Apple Pulls out of Mac World Expo Tokyo, Event
Cancelled

While this is not a new piece of news, it is one which seems to have
been passed quietly.  According to an article in Mac User, Apple
pulled out of the event in Tokyo, a decision which is similar to the
one relating to Boston 2004, forcing the Tokyo event to be cancelled
after other big names followed suit.  Read more at:

### First Desktop Linux Summit to be held

The first summit dedicated to Linux on the Desktop will be held 20-21
Febrary 2003 in San Diego.  While previous summits have been dedicated
to open source or Linux servers, this will be the first on dedicated
completely to the end user experience with the desktop.    Many
leading industry executives and leaders of Linux companies will be
present at this summit.  The purpose of the summit is to show users
that the old school idea that Linux is not point and click is a thing
