A couple of NEC MultiSync 3Ds are currently up on eBay...one is $15 (+$35
shipping...ouch), the other is $5+actual shipping cost (but it's a reserve
auction). Get a "Mac adapter" and it'll plug straight in.
A better (but more expensive) approach would be to put a scan doubler on the
IIGS's output. That should allow it to drive any VGA monitor (including
analog flat panels, if you were so inclined). There was a thread a few
months back about one scan doubler that looked promising:

I would be interested in finding the pinout to go from the DB15 connector on
the IIGS to the EIAJ (some sort of Japanese RGB) connector an XRGB2 or
XRGB2+ uses...I could then pick up one of those and display the GS's video
on my 19" monitor. (With an ADB-to-PS/2 converter and an XRGB2+, I'd even
be able to put the GS on a KVM switch and switch between it and my other
machines with a few keystrokes. I still have an unused port on the
switch...)
