Right on!
But I wouldn't recommend soldering directly to a lithium cell. Their
chemistry is a little finnicky, and they, unlike other batteries, have
explosive potential. Soldering to a lithium cell should be done _very_
quickly, and only to cells with a lot of heat capacity. (A coin cell
would be a very bad choice.)
Leaded lithium batteries/cells are pretty widely available, so it
shouldn't be necessary to heat them up. ;-) Then, of course,
adding a socket means making it easy in the future.
