The wire lead batter used by the GS ROM1 is Radio shack 960-0416 ($17USD) 
or 960-0004 ($8USD), but stores don't stock them.

Of course if you're soldering iron handy, and don't mind soldering directly 
on batteries, you could get the Radio Shack 23-026 battery for ($12USD) and 
stores usually stock this... This is the same battery used in the ROM 3

In general a 3-3.6volt Lithium battery rated around 850ma or higher should 
work.
