Well, it turns out there's something wrong with the Ethernet connection in
the LC-III. But using a borrowed Powerbook for the bridge machine I
actually got it to work. It's kind of cool!
Trouble is, I can't (not even using SharePoints, apparently) write files
to the OS-X box using the IIgs. I get a "System Error $0053 Parameter Out
Of Range" when I try. Reading files is a little better, except that the
filetype is inconveniently set to $00 when I really want type TXT. At
least I can fix that.

That's a cool idea, it just might work! Only thing is, the command pass
directory is going to have to be on the bridge Mac so that the IIgs can
write to it. Seems like a rather clumsy approach, but it ought to work,
and it doesn't require that I learn how to speak AppleTalk to make it work...!
