Re: $1225 for an Apple IIGS???

Something's wrong: a diskette but no floppy drive included? Where are the manuals? I received a User Manual, Installation Guide and a Touch Of Applesoft Booklet with my GS. I'm not sure I like this Apple collectible craze even if I own many pieces of Apple 2 hardware. It drives prices up for spare parts. My GS is marvelously equiped compared to what's been sold for $1225 and I had it real cheap. I'll check my serial # too but I don't expect big surprises there 'cuz I have ROM 3 :).

Unbelieveable what some people would pay for an Apple IIGS today.

Geeze. I've got a better one with more stuff (drives,
ImagewriterII, etc), all, as new, in original packaging and
boxes. Guess I'll have to check the serial #...

Doesn't really look like anything particularily special about this
one. It looks like a ROM 3 motherboard with socketed onboard RAM with
some EPROMs in the ROM sockets.

The seller stated that the serial number was 20, and in the photo the
label looks off center. Could someone have faked the sticker for the
serial number and doctored a ROM 3 motherboard, or do these bidders
have too much money for their own good?
