Easiest setup:
Apple IIgs (with built-in AppleTalk; just enable the drivers in GS/OS)
Farallon EtherWave (sold mainly to attach AppleTalk printers to Ethernet)
Any old Linux PC with a semi-recent kernel and "netatalk+asun"
The Linux box can act as an AppleShare server, as can pretty much any
Macintosh.
