What Bart missed out which you might already realise is that the XTAL is
divided by 4 by the time it gets to the CPU.
I have used 28MHz to get 7MHz (original on mine), 40MHz to get 10MHz, 50MHz
to get 12.5MHz. When I tried a 64MHz my TWGS didn't even finish the spash
screen but then again very few people have been lucky enough to get over
14MHz. The latter were on an upgraded TWGS. ie 14MHz CPU, 15ns 32K cache
daughterboard w/ROM 1.8, & faster XTAL. If you havn't got faster cache chips
you probably won't achieve faster than 7 MHz.
the actual name of the XTAL is a 1/2 size Clock Oscillator, and I got mine
from Mouser Electronics in the US, info available on the web if you look.
