If I recall correctly, all the King's Quest games for the 8 bit Apple
IIs were in double hi-res. Airheart was tooted as the first DHR
"arcade" game. >>
Airheart's double hi-res was never much of a draw for me. WHAT hooked me were
the 3-D effects and smooth animation! Being able to climb up in the sky and
dive down on those force-field wielding robots while the 3-D perspective kept
everything in proportion delights me. Even today, I wonder why more Apple II
games didn't meet the standards set in Airheart. I didn't realize that it was
the 1st DHR arcade game. I thought that it was just released at the end of the
Apple II commercial software era, otherwise there would have been more like it!
