OK, you have what you need to transfer files. You can download the GSOS from
Apple's system software archives, get the disk images onto the IIsi, and use
DiskCopy (also a free download from Apple, if you don't have it) to make
bootable floppies for your IIgs.  Get some 800K disks, pop them into the
IIsi and format them as ProDos 800K. Then use DiskCopy to transfer the
images to the floppies. Then you can do a minimal install on your IIgs,
installing from one of your 800K drives onto a floppy in the other.  GSOS is
much like the Mac interface you're used to.
 Oh yeah, you can also network your IIgs to one of your Macs via Appletalk,
if you want.

You'll want some utilities on the IIgs, mostly ShrinkitGS so you can extract
archives from the net. There are a lot of problems you have to learn how to
overcome, though. The main one is your Mac forking files. GSOS and
ShrinkitGS can handle that, but 8 bit ProDos apps can't.  The details are in
